Una de las especies más representativas en la producción pecuaria de nuestro país es el ganado bovino, este se
cría para la reproducción, faenado para carne y producción de leche y otros usos. Entre 2007 y 2016, se registró
un crecimiento interanual promedio de 2,06% en el número de cabezas, alcanzando 9,08 millones de cabezas en
la gestión 2016. El sistema de cría de ganado bovino está caracterizado en su mayoría por ser extensivo

y la
mayor proporción se concentra en los departamentos de Beni (31%) y Santa Cruz (43%).

3.2.2 Producción pecuaria

intensiva se realiza en ranchos, establos, granjas donde los animales están encerrados con alimentación adecuada y formas de reproducción moderna que logra una mayor producción.
